Move pushes onchain equities closer to always-on markets
Chainlink has launched a new data service that brings near round-the-clock pricing for U.S. stocks and ETFs onto blockchains. The new 24/5 U.S. Equities Streams extend Chainlink’s existing data infrastructure to cover regular trading hours, after-hours sessions, and overnight markets.
The update allows decentralized protocols to integrate tokenized equities and ETFs with more accurate and timely pricing, reducing blind spots that previously existed outside standard market hours. Chainlink says the goal is to help onchain markets better reflect real-world trading conditions.
Several platforms have already committed to using the new data streams. These include decentralized exchanges like Lighter and ApeX, as well as centralized platforms such as BitMEX. The service is compatible with more than 40 blockchains through the Chainlink Data Standard.
The launch comes as competition accelerates around extended-hours trading. Traditional exchanges and crypto-native platforms alike are racing to offer 24/5 or 24/7 access to equities, commodities, and derivatives. Recent moves by the New York Stock Exchange, Kraken, and Coinbase highlight the broader push toward always-on financial markets.
Chainlink said the new streams unlock additional use cases beyond trading, including structured products, lending markets, synthetic equities, and prediction markets. The company described the launch as an early step toward full 24/7 onchain coverage for real-world assets.
