- KB Card partners with Avalanche
- Launching hybrid credit card using stablecoins and fiat
- Aims to simplify crypto payments for mainstream users
Bridging crypto and traditional payments
KB Card is developing a hybrid payment system that combines stablecoins with traditional credit card functionality. The system will be built on Avalanche and linked to users’ digital wallets.
This allows customers to pay using stablecoins first, with any remaining balance automatically covered by their credit line.
Familiar experience with added flexibility
The goal is to reduce friction for users entering crypto payments. Instead of managing separate wallets or platforms, users can continue using their existing cards while accessing digital assets.
The system also retains benefits like rewards and standard card features.
Part of a broader national strategy
South Korea is actively preparing regulation for stablecoins under the upcoming Digital Asset Basic Act. Financial institutions are positioning early to launch products once the framework is finalized.
KB Card’s move reflects growing competition among banks and fintech firms to integrate crypto into everyday finance.
