Backing Ethena’s growth

M2 Capital, the investment arm of UAE-based M2 Holdings, has put $20 million into Ethena’s governance token ENA. The deal supports Ethena’s goal of expanding its synthetic dollar products, USDe and sUSDe, across the Middle East.

Synthetic dollars explained

Ethena’s USDe is a crypto-native stablecoin backed by digital assets and stabilized using hedging strategies. Its yield-bearing sUSDe has delivered strong returns, making it a competitive alternative to savings accounts. Together, these products have already attracted over $14 billion in locked value.

Regulated access in the Middle East

M2 plans to integrate Ethena’s products into its wealth management business, giving institutions and wealthy clients a regulated way to earn yields on synthetic dollars. Officials from M2 said the move sets “a new benchmark for trust, security, and integrity” in the region’s digital asset space.

A growing regional hub

The UAE has been positioning itself as a leading crypto hub, with Abu Dhabi offering one of the most comprehensive regulatory frameworks globally. By supporting Ethena, M2 aims to channel international capital into the region while strengthening its local digital asset ecosystem.
