Solana Support Arrives on MetaMask Extension

MetaMask has launched native support for the Solana blockchain on its browser extension, giving users direct access to Solana-based tokens and decentralized apps without requiring external plugins.

The integration means users can now trade, swap, and bridge Solana tokens from within the familiar MetaMask interface.

Mobile and Multi-Chain Plans Ahead

MetaMask says Solana support for its mobile app is coming in the next few weeks. The company also confirmed plans to add more non-EVM blockchains in the near future, aiming to streamline wallet management across ecosystems.

“We want to make wallet juggling a thing of the past,” MetaMask said in the announcement.

Regulatory Landscape and Product Growth

MetaMask is one of the most popular non-custodial wallets, with an estimated 100 million users annually. The platform previously enabled support for non-EVM chains via Snaps, a plugin-based system.

MetaMask is also exploring a native token launch, though the timeline remains uncertain. Regulatory clarity in the U.S. has made such launches more feasible, following resolved enforcement actions against firms like Consensys, Coinbase, and Kraken.
