Key Highlights:
  • Ondo has unveiled the Ondo Network, replacing its original Ondo Chain vision.
  • The network separates execution from settlement for faster trading.
  • Ondo Perps is the first application built on the new infrastructure.

Ondo Finance has officially launched the Ondo Network, a new execution layer designed to deliver centralized exchange speeds while maintaining self-custody and onchain settlement.

Instead of processing execution, verification and settlement together like traditional blockchains, the Ondo Network separates these functions, allowing trades to execute much faster while still settling on Ethereum.

According to CEO Ian De Bode, the network is the natural evolution of the previously announced Ondo Chain and will fully replace that earlier design rather than operate alongside it.

The first application running on the network is Ondo Perps, offering 24/7 perpetual futures tied to tokenized equities and commodities. The company says the architecture could eventually support lending, spot markets, structured products and other high-performance financial applications.

Ondo also confirmed that the ONDO token will continue serving as the ecosystem's governance and incentive token as the network becomes more decentralized.
