Plasma goes live with major liquidity

Plasma, a new blockchain focused on stablecoins, has officially launched its mainnet and rolled out its native XPL token. The project begins with more than $2 billion in stablecoin value locked, making it one of the top 10 chains for stablecoin liquidity on day one.

Stablecoin rails and DeFi partnerships

The network is designed to move money globally, offering zero-fee USDT transfers through its custom PlasmaBFT system. Plasma is EVM-compatible and already integrated with over 100 DeFi protocols, including Aave, Ethena, Fluid, and Euler.

Community-driven launch

The rollout follows months of fundraising and community campaigns. A June deposit drive capped at $1 billion in just over 30 minutes, while its public sale was oversubscribed by $323 million. A Binance Earn campaign also hit a $1 billion limit, seeding stablecoin liquidity for launch.

Consumer products on the way

Alongside the chain, Plasma is also developing Plasma One, a neobank app focused on stablecoins. It will allow saving, spending, and transfers in digital dollars, with a launch expected later this year.
