Polygon Labs, the main developer firm behind the Polygon network, has announced that it will be performing a technical upgrade to swap out its MATIC token for the new POL token starting on September 4. This migration is part of Polygon's "Polygon 2.0" roadmap, which was initially proposed to the community in July 2023. The change will make POL the native gas and staking token for Polygon's main proof-of-stake chain, and it will also begin to secure other blockchains in Polygon's wider "aggregated" network.Read more on Decrypt
