POLY Token and Airdrop Confirmed
Polymarket Chief Marketing Officer Matthew Modabber has officially confirmed that the platform will launch its native POLY token along with an airdrop. Speaking on the Degenz Live podcast, Modabber emphasized that the team wants the token to have “true utility and longevity.”
Timing Linked to U.S. Relaunch
The company plans to prioritize the relaunch of its U.S. app before issuing the token. Modabber explained that while the token is confirmed, the focus remains on ensuring the app’s smooth rollout and regulatory compliance before turning to token distribution.
Airdrop Speculation and Rapid Growth
Community speculation suggests airdrop eligibility may depend on users’ trading activity, rewarding the most active participants.
The confirmation comes as Polymarket experiences rapid growth, securing a $2 billion investment from NYSE parent Intercontinental Exchange and exploring a $15 billion valuation. The platform recently logged $1.4 billion in trading volume last month, with adoption rising alongside rival Kalshi.
