Key Highlights:
  • Pump.fun acquired trading terminal Vyper to strengthen its execution and cross-chain capabilities

  • Vyper’s product will be sunset as its infrastructure is merged into Pump.fun’s Terminal

  • The move follows Pump.fun’s broader push beyond memecoin launches into trading tools

From Launchpad to Trading Platform

Solana-based memecoin launchpad Pump.fun has acquired trading execution terminal Vyper, continuing its expansion into onchain trading infrastructure.

Vyper announced that its technology and team will be integrated into Pump.fun’s Terminal platform. As part of the transition, the standalone Vyper product will eventually be shut down.

The acquisition builds on Pump.fun’s October 2025 purchase of Padre, which was later rebranded as Terminal. That platform focuses on high-speed trading and execution for memecoins and other volatile assets.

Focus on Cross-Chain and EVM Support

Pump.fun said the Vyper acquisition will significantly improve Terminal’s support for EVM-based chains, including Base. The company views fast, efficient cross-chain execution as a core competitive advantage as traders move between ecosystems.

Despite cooler market conditions for memecoins, Pump.fun co-founder Alon Cohen said the company continues to expand aggressively. He framed the deal as a long-term infrastructure investment rather than a short-term response to market cycles.

Activity Remains Elevated

While the memecoin frenzy has cooled compared to early 2024 highs, Pump.fun has still seen renewed activity. According to recent data, token launches on the platform surged to nearly 30,000 in early February, up sharply from late 2025 averages.

The acquisition signals that Pump.fun is positioning itself less as a novelty launchpad and more as a full-stack trading platform.
