Pump.fun Surpasses Hyperliquid in Daily Revenue

Solana-based memecoin launchpad Pump.fun saw $3.38 million in daily revenue, topping the perpetuals exchange Hyperliquid’s $3.06 million, according to DefiLlama. This marked its strongest daily revenue since February, signaling a major turnaround after months of decline.

Revenue Sources and Past Volatility

Pump.fun allows users to easily launch new memecoins, collecting fees from token creation, liquidity seeding, and subsequent trading. Its revenues peaked at over $6.7 million in January before plunging 96% to just $206,000 in August, reflecting memecoin market volatility.

Buybacks Spark Recovery

The platform’s comeback has been driven by a new buyback policy. Since July, Pump.fun has committed 100% of its revenue to repurchasing PUMP tokens, up from 25% previously. The buybacks, totaling nearly $100 million, have already removed 6.7% of supply from circulation.

The aggressive program has sparked confidence among traders, pushing the PUMP token up 54% since July.
