Security Fears Push Solv Toward Chainlink
Solv Protocol announced that it will migrate its cross-chain infrastructure from LayerZero to Chainlink’s CCIP system following growing concerns around bridge security.
The migration will affect more than $700 million in tokenized bitcoin infrastructure managed by Solv Protocol.

Cross-chain bridges are essential infrastructure in decentralized finance because they allow assets to move between different blockchain ecosystems.
These systems connect networks such as Ethereum, Bitcoin, Solana, Arbitrum, and others, enabling users to move liquidity across chains.
However, bridges have also become one of the largest security risks in crypto, with multiple billion-dollar exploits occurring over the past several years.
The Kelp DAO Exploit Changed Industry Sentiment
The recent Kelp DAO exploit intensified concerns around LayerZero-powered infrastructure.
Attackers allegedly manipulated a weak verifier setup to mint unbacked rsETH tokens, which were later used across lending protocols including Aave. The exploit caused cascading losses across multiple DeFi platforms and triggered industry-wide discussions about bridge security standards.
Following the attack, both Kelp DAO and Solv Protocol moved toward Chainlink infrastructure.
Chainlink Positions Itself As The Security Standard
Solv stated that Chainlink’s CCIP offered stronger security guarantees, including built-in risk management systems, active monitoring, and decentralized validation mechanisms.
The migration highlights a larger shift within DeFi, where protocols increasingly prioritize security and reliability over lower costs or faster integrations.
