Expanding USDT0 Utility in DeFi

Tether has made a strategic investment in Dreamcash, a mobile interface for the Hyperliquid decentralized exchange. The move coincides with the launch of new real-world asset perpetual markets that use USDT0 as collateral.

The newly launched markets include exposure to the S&P 500, gold, silver, and major U.S. stocks such as Tesla, Nvidia, Google, Amazon, Meta, and Microsoft.

USDT0 is the omnichain version of USDT, built using LayerZero technology. It allows USDT holders to access DeFi markets across multiple chains without relying on centralized bridges.

Incentives and Ecosystem Growth

Dreamcash announced a $200,000 weekly incentive program designed to reward traders based on their share of total USDT trading volume. The markets are powered by Hyperliquid’s HIP-3 standard, which enables permissionless creation of new perpetual contracts with custom collateral types.

For Tether, the investment supports broader efforts to expand USDT use cases beyond simple transfers and payments. By enabling USDT-based collateral for equity and commodity perps, Tether is positioning itself deeper within the onchain derivatives ecosystem.

As tokenized real-world assets and perpetual trading grow, USDT0-backed markets could become a key bridge between traditional finance and DeFi liquidity.
