- The AI project could generate over $3 billion if fully expanded.
Hyperscale Data has sold approximately 100 bitcoin and opened a bitcoin-backed credit facility to help finance construction of its AI data center campus in Michigan.
The company said it is redeploying part of its $71 million bitcoin treasury into the project while using its remaining BTC holdings as collateral for low-interest financing.
The initial agreement covers 20 megawatts of AI computing capacity under a 10-year contract, with options to expand capacity and extend the deal.
If fully exercised, the project could generate more than $3 billion in revenue over its lifetime.
The move follows a growing trend of public companies using their bitcoin treasuries to fund AI infrastructure and data center expansion rather than simply holding BTC on their balance sheets.
