- MoonPay introduces a stablecoin debit card for users and AI agents
- Converts crypto to fiat instantly at checkout
- Works on Mastercard network
- Targets growing “agentic commerce” trend
Bridging Crypto Wallets and Real-World Spending
MoonPay has launched the “MoonAgents Card,” a product designed to connect onchain assets directly with everyday payments.
Running on the Mastercard network, the card allows users to spend stablecoins at any merchant that accepts traditional card payments, effectively removing one of the biggest barriers to crypto adoption.
How It Improves Existing Crypto Cards
Unlike many crypto debit cards, this product does not require users to preload funds or move assets offchain.
Instead, transactions are authorized and settled in real time, with stablecoins converted into fiat at the moment of purchase. If a transaction fails, funds are immediately returned to the user’s wallet, preserving self-custody at all times.
Designed for the Rise of AI-Driven Finance
What makes this launch different is its focus on AI agents.
As autonomous systems begin managing wallets, executing trades, and interacting with services, they also need a way to spend money. This card allows AI agents to participate in real-world commerce, something that traditional banking infrastructure does not support.
Why This Matters
This product is part of a broader shift toward “agentic commerce,” where machines, not humans, initiate transactions.
If this trend continues, payment infrastructure will need to evolve from user-driven systems to programmable ones, and stablecoins are increasingly positioned as the settlement layer for that future.
