- Morgan Stanley’s MSBT ETF records $34M in first-day volume
- Beats analyst expectations and enters with lowest fee (0.14%)
- Backed by a large advisor network with $9.3T in assets
- Launch comes as bitcoin price and ETF inflows recover
Strong Start for a Late Entrant
Morgan Stanley’s spot bitcoin ETF, MSBT, debuted with around $34 million in trading volume on its first day, exceeding analyst expectations. The fund traded over 1.6 million shares and closed near $20.47, signaling solid demand despite entering a competitive market.
The ETF differentiates itself primarily through pricing, offering a 0.14% fee, the lowest among all bitcoin ETFs currently available.
Leveraging Distribution Power
One of Morgan Stanley’s biggest advantages is its network of around 16,000 financial advisors managing $9.3 trillion in assets. This gives the firm a strong distribution channel that could drive long-term inflows beyond retail demand.
Lower fees combined with advisor-driven allocations could help MSBT gain market share over time.
ETF Market Shows Signs of Recovery
The launch comes during a broader rebound in bitcoin markets. Prices recently jumped above $70,000, while ETF inflows have started to recover after months of outflows.
Although the sector is still below previous peaks, renewed inflows suggest institutional demand may be stabilizing again.
