Bitcoin Creator Closes In on Buffett’s Fortune
Bitcoin’s recent price surge has pushed the value of wallets linked to Satoshi Nakamoto past $130 billion, according to Arkham Intelligence. This leap places the anonymous founder ahead of Bill Gates and Michael Dell, making Satoshi the world’s 11th richest person.
At a BTC price of $128,650, Satoshi would overtake Warren Buffett. The pseudonymous creator’s estimated 1.1 million BTC stash has never been moved, leading to ongoing speculation about Satoshi’s identity and intentions.
Unmoved Coins, Uncertain Future
Experts debate whether Satoshi is still alive. None of the BTC in known addresses has ever been touched, even as Bitcoin climbed over 200% since Buffett dismissed it as “rat poison.”
Meanwhile, a new Bitcoin Improvement Proposal seeks to make the protocol more resistant to quantum attacks, which could eventually threaten Satoshi’s wallets and others using early cryptographic signatures.
