New Bitcoin Added to Tether’s Reserve Wallet
Tether has reportedly added another 961 BTC to its bitcoin reserves, worth around $97 million, according to data from Arkham and Nansen. The transaction originated from a Bitfinex hot wallet, moving the funds to an address associated with Tether’s main bitcoin reserve.
Total Holdings Near $9 Billion
This latest transfer brings Tether’s total BTC holdings to 87,296, with an estimated market value of $8.9 billion. While it’s unclear whether these were newly purchased or transferred existing reserves, the activity aligns with Tether’s ongoing accumulation strategy since 2022.
Part of a Broader Diversification Strategy
Tether allocates 15% of its quarterly net profits toward bitcoin purchases. It also holds over $135 billion in U.S. Treasurys and earned $10 billion in profits in the first three quarters of 2025. The company continues expanding into sectors like AI, telecom, and bitcoin mining while developing a U.S.-regulated stablecoin (USAT) to complement USDT.
Largest Stablecoin and Major BTC Holder
USDT remains the world’s largest stablecoin, with a total supply of $183 billion. Tether’s holdings make it one of the top private bitcoin holders globally, behind only Block One and MicroStrategy, according to Bitcoin Treasuries data.
