Europe’s Largest Asset Manager Expands Into Onchain Finance
Amundi has issued its first tokenized share class of a money market fund on Ethereum as part of a new hybrid model that keeps traditional distribution channels in place while adding a blockchain-based option. The new product, named Amundi Funds Cash EUR - J28 EUR DLT, brings onchain fund units to one of the largest asset managers in the world.
The fund uses public Ethereum for transparent ownership tracking and full transaction traceability.
CACEIS Provides Wallet Infrastructure and a 24/7 Order System
The launch was developed with CACEIS, which supplies digital wallets for investors and a blockchain-based transfer agent platform. CACEIS said the new infrastructure sets the stage for future 24/7 subscriptions and redemptions, including payments made in stablecoins or eventual central bank digital currencies.
Both firms emphasized that tokenization enhances operational efficiency without replacing existing distribution options.
RWA Tokenization Market Accelerates
The move comes as real-world-asset tokenization expands rapidly. The market grew from $15.2 billion at the start of 2025 to $37.1 billion by late November. Provenance leads with nearly $14 billion in tokenized RWAs, while Ethereum sits in second place with $12.4 billion.
