Key Highlights:
  • Bybit plans to launch IBAN-based fiat accounts in February.

  • The accounts will support 18 fiat currencies.

  • The exchange is also exploring US expansion and a future IPO.

From Exchange to Financial Platform

Bybit plans to roll out IBAN-based fiat accounts as early as February, adding neobank-style features to its platform. The accounts will allow users to hold, send, and receive fiat currencies alongside crypto assets, expanding Bybit’s services beyond trading.

The accounts will be branded as “MyBank” and issued in partnership with licensed banking institutions.

Payments, Transfers, and Compliance

Each account will come with an International Bank Account Number, enabling cross-border transfers across 18 supported fiat currencies. Initial support will focus on U.S. dollars, with additional currencies added over time. Access will be subject to know-your-customer checks conducted by both Bybit and its banking partners.

The exchange said the launch remains subject to final regulatory approvals.

Broader Institutional Push

Bybit is also developing a new custody product aimed at banks and large investors involved in tokenized real-world assets. Separately, the company is evaluating a potential U.S. expansion and confirmed that a public listing remains a long-term goal.

The move follows a volatile period for the exchange, including a major 2025 hack that was fully covered using internal reserves, and reflects Bybit’s push to position itself as a full-service financial platform rather than a trading-only venue.
