NET Dollar Announcement
Cloudflare CEO Matthew Prince announced that the company will launch a stablecoin called NET Dollar. It will be fully collateralized by U.S. dollar reserves, though no release date has been set yet.
Rising Stablecoin Market
The announcement comes as stablecoin adoption accelerates. Analysts at Citi recently raised their 2030 market forecast to $1.9 trillion, with an upside of $4 trillion. Major financial institutions are also stepping in, with Bank of America planning its own stablecoin and Tether preparing a U.S.-focused product.
Focus on Automation and Scale
Cloudflare said NET Dollar is designed for the “rise of agents and machines,” supporting automated transactions without human intervention. The company also highlighted the stablecoin’s cross-network interoperability, aiming to power seamless, global commerce.
