Franklin Templeton is continuing its push into tokenized finance through a new partnership with MoonPay that brings its BENJI tokenized money market fund onto MoonPay Trade.
The integration enables institutional investors to move seamlessly between stablecoins such as USDC and USDT and Franklin Templeton’s blockchain-based money market fund. The companies described the partnership as the foundation for a broader strategic relationship focused on digital asset infrastructure.
BENJI holders will gain access to a wider range of onchain financial applications, including treasury management, collateral posting, liquidity provision, and portfolio rebalancing. By making tokenized fund shares more interoperable with blockchain ecosystems, the partnership aims to improve capital efficiency for institutional users.
MoonPay Trade, launched in May, serves as an institutional-grade execution platform that provides a single API connecting users to more than 200 blockchains. The platform supports cross-chain trading, settlement, collateral movement, and tokenized asset transactions while maintaining compliance requirements.
Franklin Templeton has become one of the largest traditional finance players in tokenization. Its Franklin OnChain U.S. Government Money Fund, represented by the BENJI token, was the first U.S.-registered mutual fund launched on a public blockchain in 2021. The firm has since expanded BENJI through partnerships with Kraken, Binance, Ondo Finance, and other major crypto platforms.
As institutional interest in tokenized real-world assets continues growing, the latest partnership further positions BENJI as a bridge between traditional financial products and blockchain-based markets.
