  • It supports multiple currencies and reduces settlement risk

The London Stock Exchange Group has launched a new blockchain-based platform designed to settle transactions using tokenized commercial bank deposits around the clock.

The platform, called Digital Settlement House, or DiSH, allows instant settlement across multiple currencies using payment-versus-payment and delivery-versus-payment mechanisms. Transactions are settled through accounts held at commercial banks, giving participants direct ownership of tokenized deposits rather than synthetic or proxy assets.

LSEG said the platform improves intraday liquidity management by allowing assets that are usually locked during settlement cycles to remain usable. This enables continuous use of cash, securities, and digital assets, while also shortening settlement timelines and increasing available collateral.

DiSH operates under LSEG’s Post Trade Solutions division and can either settle transactions on its own ledger or act as a notary for settlements that occur on connected external networks. The system also supports intraday borrowing and lending between participants.

The platform follows a successful proof of concept conducted with Digital Asset and a group of financial institutions on the Canton Network. During testing, tokenized bank deposits were used as a true cash settlement layer across multiple currencies and asset classes.

The launch builds on LSEG’s broader push into blockchain infrastructure, following the release of its blockchain-based private funds platform in late 2025, developed in partnership with Microsoft.
