Structured Yield for Institutional Investors

Decentralized lending platform Maple Finance has introduced “Lend + Long,” an onchain structured yield product aimed at institutional investors. The product offers exposure to Bitcoin price upside without direct ownership, addressing the demand for structured BTC exposure.

Leveraging High-Yield Lending Pools

The product utilizes revenue from Maple’s High Yield Secured Pool to purchase Bitcoin call options. This pool, backed by overcollateralized loans, accepts a wide range of altcoins as collateral, offering higher interest rates compared to the Blue Chip Secured Pool.

Expanding Product Offerings

Maple has been expanding its offerings since its 2021 launch. The platform has delved into tokenized treasuries, retail-focused products like Syrup.Fi, and now a structured yield product for institutions. CEO Sid Powell highlighted the product’s appeal to corporate treasuries and yield funds seeking low-risk exposure to Bitcoin’s price movements.

Future Developments

With approximately $110 million in total value locked, Maple continues to innovate in decentralized finance. The new product underscores its commitment to bridging traditional finance and blockchain technology.
