Key Highlights:
  • MetaMask added native support for the Tron blockchain

  • Users can now manage Tron assets directly in the wallet

  • The move follows recent Bitcoin and Solana integrations

MetaMask has expanded its multi-chain strategy by adding native support for the Tron blockchain across its mobile and browser wallets.

With the update, users can hold Tron-based assets, send and receive USDT, stake TRX, and interact with decentralized applications directly from MetaMask. The wallet also enables swaps and transfers across Tron, Ethereum-compatible networks, Solana, and Bitcoin from a single interface.

MetaMask was originally built as an Ethereum-only wallet, closely tied to the ecosystem developed by its parent company Consensys. Over the past year, however, the wallet has steadily expanded to support non-EVM chains as user activity has become increasingly multi-chain.

The Tron network has grown into a major hub for stablecoins and payments. It hosts tens of billions of dollars in USDT and sees millions of active wallets each day, making it one of the most widely used blockchains globally.

MetaMask says the Tron integration is part of its effort to become a universal gateway to the decentralized economy, allowing users to manage assets and interact with applications across ecosystems without switching wallets.
