Blockchain-Based Settlement Infrastructure
Nasdaq announced a partnership with Seturion, a tokenized settlement platform developed by Boerse Stuttgart Group, to modernize Europe’s post-trade infrastructure.
The collaboration will connect Nasdaq’s European trading venues to Seturion’s blockchain-based network, enabling trading and settlement of tokenized securities through a unified system.
Initially, the partnership will focus on structured financial products before expanding to additional asset classes.
Reducing Fragmentation in European Markets
European capital markets currently rely on a patchwork of post-trade systems across multiple jurisdictions, which increases costs and operational complexity.
By integrating with Seturion, Nasdaq aims to streamline cross-border settlement and reduce inefficiencies using blockchain technology.
The announcement follows another initiative by Nasdaq to work with Kraken on infrastructure linking tokenized equities to blockchain networks. That broader tokenization framework is expected to become operational in the first half of 2027.
