Dogecoin-Themed Card Debuts
Revolut announced the launch of its first physical crypto card, a Dogecoin-themed debit card with an LED display that lights up during payments.
The card will work anywhere Visa and Mastercard are accepted and will initially launch across the UK and European Economic Area, excluding several countries.
Crypto Card Usage Continues Growing
The launch comes as crypto payment cards gain traction across the industry. Companies including Crypto.com, Coinbase, Binance, and Gemini have all expanded card offerings over the past year.
Recent industry data shows daily crypto card transactions have surpassed 100,000 multiple times in recent weeks.
Revolut Expands Crypto Services
Revolut said users will not face additional exchange fees, though transactions may still incur tax obligations depending on local regulations.
The fintech giant has been steadily expanding its crypto ecosystem, previously integrating Polygon for remittances, staking, and in-app crypto payments.
Banking Ambitions Continue
The launch also aligns with Revolut’s broader banking expansion plans. Earlier this year, the company received approval to launch a fully licensed bank in the UK while pursuing a U.S. banking license.
Some analysts believe those efforts could eventually support the launch of a stablecoin product.
