A New Milestone for Tether
Tether, the issuer of the world’s largest stablecoin, has officially surpassed 500 million users, marking what CEO Paolo Ardoino called “the biggest financial inclusion achievement in history.”
With nearly $182 billion USDT in circulation, Tether remains the dominant player in the stablecoin market, far ahead of Circle’s $75 billion USDC supply.
Growing Global Role
Ardoino described Tether as a bridge between value and communication, saying that “programmable money is the ultimate social network.” The company’s massive reach underscores its role as a backbone for digital payments and global remittances.
Next Steps for Expansion
Reports suggest Tether is in talks to raise up to $20 billion at a $500 billion valuation, potentially making it one of the world’s most valuable private companies. The firm also plans to launch a U.S.-focused stablecoin, USAT, by the end of the year under the new U.S. regulatory framework.
