Trump Media & Technology Group said Tuesday that it’s exploring a new utility token for the Truth Social platform. The token would power a digital wallet, allowing users to pay for Truth+ subscriptions and other services.
This marks the company’s latest foray into crypto under U.S. President Donald Trump’s leadership.
Expanding the Trump Crypto Brand
The token idea builds on a broader fintech strategy. Trump Media has already filed a trademark for Truth.Fi, which includes digital wallet software. It also signed a partnership with Crypto.com to offer ETFs and other crypto products.
Earlier this year, Trump personally endorsed the TRUMP memecoin, which reached a $2.6 billion market cap.
Raising Eyebrows
While supporters say the initiatives promote innovation, critics argue Trump’s crypto ties raise ethical concerns. Chainalysis reports that the memecoin generated hundreds of millions in profits for wallets linked to Trump.
