- Visa is building an internal stablecoin platform.
- The platform will initially support the upcoming OUSD stablecoin.
- Banks and fintechs will gain easier access to stablecoin payments.
- Visa continues expanding its digital asset infrastructure.
Visa is developing an internal stablecoin platform designed to help banks, fintechs, and other financial institutions integrate stablecoin payments into their existing operations.
According to reports, the platform will launch with support for Open USD (OUSD), a new stablecoin backed by more than 140 financial and technology companies, including Visa, Mastercard, Stripe, BlackRock, and Coinbase.
Rather than simply providing access to stablecoins, Visa aims to simplify treasury management, settlement, and cross-border money movement for its institutional clients.
The initiative reflects Visa's broader strategy to position stablecoins as a core component of future payment infrastructure while continuing to support existing digital assets such as USDC and USDG.
