- X introduces Cashtags to track crypto and stocks
- Users can view price charts and related posts
- Available on iPhone in the U.S. and Canada
- Part of X’s broader move into finance tools
Financial Data Comes Into the Timeline
X has launched a new feature called Cashtags, allowing users to view crypto and stock data directly inside the app. The feature connects market discussions with live price charts in one place.
Users can search for a ticker, token, or contract address, and X will suggest a matching Cashtag. By tapping it, they can see both a live chart and posts related to that asset.
Focus on Discovery, Not Trading
The feature is designed to help users follow market sentiment more easily. Instead of switching between apps, users can now track both price and discussion in one feed.
In Canada, users also see a link to Wealthsimple, allowing them to move toward trading through a partner. X itself does not execute trades.
Part of a Bigger Strategy
The launch fits into Elon Musk’s plan to expand X into a broader platform that includes payments and financial tools.
For now, Cashtags are limited to the U.S. and Canada, with no timeline yet for a wider rollout.
