Key Highlights:
  • Anchorage added support for Lido's wstETH.
  • Institutions gain regulated access to liquid staking.
  • Clients can mint and redeem wstETH directly.
  • The move could boost institutional Ethereum adoption.

Anchorage Digital has integrated Lido's liquid staking protocol, giving institutional clients direct access to wrapped staked ETH (wstETH) through its federally regulated crypto platform.

The integration allows institutions to mint, redeem, and custody wstETH while continuing to earn Ethereum staking rewards without sacrificing liquidity.

Unlike traditional staking, which locks ETH for extended periods, Lido issues transferable staking tokens that can be traded, used as collateral, or deployed across decentralized finance applications.

Anchorage says combining regulated custody with liquid staking removes many of the operational and security barriers that have historically limited institutional participation in Ethereum staking.

The partnership may also provide a boost for Lido, whose protocol revenues declined last year as staking yields fell and some users withdrew funds. Both companies view the integration as another step toward expanding institutional participation in Ethereum's growing staking ecosystem.
