Total staked ETH reached a new all-time high of about 36 million

Institutional players and ETFs are driving much of the growth
Ethereum staking has reached a new record, with nearly one-third of the network’s total ETH supply now locked into the proof-of-stake system.
More than 36 million ETH is currently staked on Ethereum’s Beacon Chain, representing close to 30% of the circulating supply. This marks a new all-time high, surpassing the previous peak set in mid-2025. At current prices, the total value of staked ETH exceeds $118 billion.
Staking activity has picked up alongside Ethereum’s recent price strength. ETH is up double digits year-to-date and saw a sharp rally over the past 24 hours, which has encouraged additional capital to move into staking rather than liquid markets.
Ethereum now has around 900,000 active validators securing the network, with another large batch of ETH waiting to enter staking. At the same time, the validator exit queue remains near historic lows, suggesting that existing stakers are not rushing to withdraw or sell.
Institutional participation has become a major driver of this trend. Large treasury firms have been steadily increasing both their ETH holdings and their staking exposure. Exchange-traded products are also starting to play a role, as some Ethereum ETFs have begun distributing staking rewards to investors. With more asset managers exploring staking-enabled products, locked ETH supply could continue to rise.
