Major Crypto Firms Gain Regulatory Clarity

Revolut, Blockchain.com, and Relai have each secured licenses under the EU’s Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) framework, allowing them to provide digital asset services in all 30 EEA markets.

Revolut obtained its license from Cyprus, Blockchain.com from Malta, and Relai from France — positioning each for pan-European expansion.

MiCA Ushers in a New Era

MiCA officially took effect late last year, giving crypto service providers up to 18 months to transition from older VASP registrations. The regulation aims to harmonize crypto oversight across the EU, ensuring consistent consumer protection and operational standards.

Next Up: Plasma Eyes Expansion

Plasma, a stablecoin-focused Layer 1 network, said it has obtained a VASP license in Italy and is opening an office in Amsterdam while applying for a MiCA license. The company launched its mainnet last month, signaling continued European momentum in compliant crypto infrastructure.
