- Two traders have sued Polymarket.
- The dispute centers on a Strategy bitcoin sale market.
- Plaintiffs claim the platform changed the rules after the event.
- They are seeking damages through the courts.
Two Polymarket users have filed a lawsuit against the prediction market platform, alleging it wrongly resolved a market tied to whether Strategy would sell bitcoin before the end of May.
The plaintiffs argue that Strategy's SEC filing clearly confirmed a sale of 32 BTC during the specified period, meaning the market should have resolved in favor of "Yes" traders.
Instead, Polymarket ultimately settled the market as "No" following a UMA governance vote, with the lawsuit claiming the platform effectively changed the resolution criteria after the event had already occurred.
The complaint includes allegations of breach of contract, deceptive business practices, unjust enrichment, and false advertising, with the traders seeking damages and legal costs.
The case adds to growing scrutiny around prediction market dispute resolution as trading volumes on platforms like Polymarket continue reaching record highs.
